Every month, I'm featuring one of my favorite photography 'buds' to learn more about their photography and to help promote and showcase their work.  In addition to the interview, you'll see examples of their images and how you can follow them on the web.  Check out the monthly episodes below.

Episode 6 - Paul Bergwall

Paul Bergwall is a retired art/photography teacher (9th grade for 15 years). Before teaching , he printed Black and White pictures for Kodak, photo labs, photo studios and for himself. Now he likes to document his walks, find echos of the past and a little character and patina in his world. Since the pandemic he has been posting a picture a day on facebook and instagram, a discipline he thought would be difficult, he doesn't know how to stop.  You can view Paul's photography his Facebook and Instagram pages.

Episode 5 - Leandra Habel 

Leandra discovered her passion for photography during her elementary school years while being a part of the 4H club. However, it wasn't until she became a mother that she decided to improve her photographic skills. In 2004, after retiring from Architectural Drafting, Leandra became a stay-at-home mom. While volunteering at her daughter's school, she became friends with the teachers and contributed pictures for the yearbook. Since then, she has polished her photography skills to include a wide range of subjects such as sports, portraits, landscapes, nature, events, and night photography. Leandra is currently serving as the newsletter editor for the Camera Club Council of Tennessee and a member of Tennessee Professional Photographers, Brentwood Photography Group, and Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers. Leandra lives in Unionville, Tennessee, and when she's not editing images or attending photography workshops, she loves to travel with her family and explore new places to capture the perfect shot.  You can view Leandra's photography at her Online Gallery and her Facebook page.

Episode 4 - Emil Davidzuk

Emil is from the St Louis area and his favorite subjects are landscapes, nightscapes, flora, cars and machines, old barns, the list goes on and on.  According to Emil, "I am processing more of my images in black and white. I was inspired by St Louis landscape photographer, Jack Curran, after attending several of his lectures.  My attraction is simple: a good black and white image is all about the composition and the artistic editing to enhance the light and draw the viewer into my images."  You can view Emil's photography on his Pixels site or his Facebook page.

Episode 3 - Michael Robb 

Michael Robb is from Kansas City, Missouri and notes ... "I have always had a yearning for travel since my days as a young boy.  In the years since, I have had an increasing interest in taking photographs along the backroads in North America.  I continue to find new subjects today (at 60)."  Though he is still working on a new website, you can follow his photography on Facebook

Episode 2 - Barry Chattillion 

Barry Chattillion is from Columbia, Illinois, across the river from south Saint Louis, a prime example of a small midwestern town.  Barry retired from the US Army in 1997 after serving 30 years, 18 of those years were in southern Germany.  He has moved around since then and now lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  Barry mostly wanders the towns in the area searching for interesting people and images that are just part of “ordinary” life.  You can follow Barry's photography on Instagram or Facebook.

Episode 1 - Chris Hall

Chris Hall is a retired Nursing Home Administrator living in the Ouachita Mountain Region of SE Oklahoma. You can find her traveling in her jeep on the backroads, exploring and hiking down that unknown path in search of the next lost treasure with camera in tow.  She's an historical and landscape photographer, but you'll find she'll shoot just about anything that looks fun and adventuresome.  Click to view Chris's photography and her American Era site.
